New Alfred Hitchcock-inspired hotel gives guests a surprise in bathrooms
Before the renovation that transformed the York Hotel into the Hotel Vertigo in San Francisco, the guest bathrooms were stark white. After the work the bathrooms offer tones of white, cream and brown and a contemporary design.
"I wanted to make sure that Vertigo's bathrooms offered a true surprise element. It really was worth the expense in the overall design presentation." -Yvonne Lembi-Detert Personality Hotels
In contrast to the York's previous stark-white bathrooms, Lembi-Detert felt the color scheme is now more "earthy" by using brown, beige, and white. "These three colors present a very crisp, clean appeal to our guests and also allow for a brighter background when in a bathroom putting on makeup or shaving," she said.
