Diva Opens Themed Internet Lounges
Hotel Diva, San Francisco, is home to four cutting-edge Internet lounges, designed by some
of the area's hottest artists. The 24-hour lounges have their own unique perosnalities,
like skateboards on the wall and a couture dress suspended from the ceiling. "All of these
lounges were put together with my vision," says Yvonne Lembi-Detert, president of Diva
parent Personality Hotels. "They are much more fun and interesting than a regular Internet
lounge. It is really hip, and guests really like it."
The Pablo Designs Lighting Lounge, designed by Pablo Pardo features an array of lighting
creations, including a Bl Occhio pendant globe ceiling light and a Ventana hanging wall
light. The LeeQuen Lounge created by furniture designer Rick Lee and wife Colleen Quen,
displays Quen's signature Madame Butterfly gown cacading from the ceiling as a light
fixture, creating a surreal glow over the whimsical design pieces below. Designer Lisa
Campango and her husband, renowed skateboarder Pete Colpitts, put together the DLX Lounge,
named for San Francisco's DLX Skateboards & Clothing Store. Outfitted in black, white, red
and turquoise, the lounge features wall displays of skateboard decks and a vending machine
filled with skate accessories. Finally the Design Within Reach Lounge by Compagno and Eric
Hilderbrndt features a loveseat from Ted Boerner's Theatre collection. Marco Zanuso's
mid-century classic Lady Chair and Marcel Breuer's Laccio table.
