HOTEL DIVA’S CHIC ARTIST INTERNET LOUNGES
Hotel Diva, part of the Personality Hotels collection, features four cutting-edge Diva Lounges, styled by San Francisco’s hottest artists and designers. From skateboards lining the walls to a couture dress suspended from the ceiling, each lounge has its own unique style and personality. All of the lounges are open 24-hours a day and offer complimentary use of a computer. These perfect little spots offer Hotel Diva guests an inspirational space for brainstorming, meeting with a friend or colleague, checking emails or simply unwinding after a long day.
Personality Hotels’ President and CEO Yvonne Lembi-Detert hand-selected four top San Francisco designers and asked them to create their own unique vision of a great lounge. “When Hotel Diva opened in 1985, it broke the mold for hotel design, and after two decades it is still at the creative forefront,” says Lembi-Detert. “I personally chose designers that I trusted to further the innovative expression of the hotel, while continuing to offer the warmth and hospitable comfort our guests expect.”
The Four Diva Lounges Include:
Pablo Designs Lighting Lounge – 2nd Floor
At the forefront of American lighting design, Pablo Designs, based in San Francisco, has gained international recognition for their innovative lighting and home furnishing designs, which are characterized by their unique sense of style and simplicity. Designed by Pablo Pardo, this lounge features many of his most unique designs including: a Bel Occhio pendant globe ceiling light and matching table lamp; a Ventana hanging wall light; a clear and white Tube Top lamp; an Elise table lamp; and a modern light bench.
LeeQuen Lounge - 5th Floor
Award-winning San Francisco industrial and furniture designer Rick Lee and his wife, nationally-renowned couturière Colleen Quen (whose couture designs were recently featured on the national televison show “America’s Next Top Model”) have combined their talents to create a lounge featuring fashion by Colleen Quen Couture and cutting-edge furniture design by Rick Lee Designs. Quen's signature Madame Butterfly gown can be seen cascading from the ceiling as a light fixture creating a surreal glow over the strikingly whimsical design pieces placed below. The LeeQuen lounge celebrates the fusion of nature, fashion and design, reflecting both designers’ avant-garde sophistication.
DLX Lounge – 6th Floor
Designer Lisa Compagno and her husband, renowned skateboarder Pete Colpitts (aka Pete The OX), have created the ultimate lounge for skateboard aficionados. This cutting-edge space is filled with the hottest skateboards, skate clothing and accessories from in San Francisco’s DLX Skateboards & Clothing Store. Outfitted in black, white, red and turquoise, the lounge features a sleek, modern white leather lounge chair, a crushed velvet turquoise ottoman, a clear resin Philippe Starck computer stool and modern lighting accessories. A large striped wall displays various skateboard decks from Real, Anti-Hero and Krooked Skateboards. A food and drink vending machine is filled with Deluxe skateboard accessories such as Spitfire dice, beanie hats, patches and wallets. A smaller gumball vending machine houses a colorful assortment of skateboard wheels and jawbreakers (for display only).
Design Within Reach Lounge - 7th Floor
Designer Lisa Compagno and Design Within Reach veteran Eric Hildebrandt stylized this lounge with modern furniture and lighting from Design Within Reach, headquartered in San Francisco. The lounge features: a loveseat from San Francisco designer Ted Boerner’s Theatre collection; Marco Zanuso’s mid-century classic Lady Chair; Bauhaus master Marcel Breuer’s Laccio table; a gloss Iconic black wall from B+N Industries; and a pop art painting. Illuminating the lounge is Moooi’s Random Light and Flos’ shiny black Spun lamp.
