THAT'S WHAT KIDS ARE MADE OF Personality Hotels Caters Towards Families With Designer Kids' Suites "Little Divas Suite" at Hotel Diva: Kids feel like true divas and devos when they stay in the "Little Divas Suite" which celebrates famous child performers. Outfitted by Design Within Reach in bright pop art colors of red, hot pink and bursts of yellow, the Diva Kids' Suite is stylized for even the savviest pint-sized traveler complete with a modern bunk bed, a colorful futon, "Donut Pouf" cushions, a computer and a large drawing table. Special "diva" touches include Andy Warhol-inspired pop art pictures of San Francisco young divas and devos in the arts (including the hotel's own sassy resident "Divette") and a selection of kid-friendly movies to watch on their personal flat screen television. Creative outlets allow kids to explore their performer within: budding singers can find their inner American Idol on the karaoke machine; aspiring actors and actresses (or those that just want to play dress-up) will delight in searching through a large trunk filled with sunglasses, feather boas, hats, ties, clothing, jewelry and shoes; musicians can rock out on the tambourine; and aspiring disc jockeys can jam tunes on the brightly colored CD player. Upon entering Hotel Diva just past the Diva Sidewalk of Fame, kids have their own check-in, and receive complimentary use of an Ipod shuffle filled with music just for them, coupons for two kids' hot chocolates at the adjacent Starbucks and a list of kid-friendly San Francisco attractions handpicked by the children of Personality Hotels Owner, Yvonne Lembi-Detert. And the best part - parents can have their peace and quiet in their adjoining room complete with a king bed, but will easily be able to see what the little ones are up by just opening the connecting door. The "Little Divas Suite" sleeps up to two adults and two children. Rates start at $209, excluding tax and subject to availability. "Ring in the Kids Suite" at Hotel Union Square: The "Ring in the Kids Suite" at Hotel Union Square celebrates the history of this art deco-styled property, which opened in 1913 for the 1915 San Francisco Pan Pacific Exhibition. Stylized in primary colors, the kids' suite boasts retro-style mixed media collages of famous kid-friendly San Francisco landmarks. The suite features a cherry wood trundle bed, a computer filled with history-related games, a writing desk, a large colorful rug, and a grease board that allows kids to create a little history of their own. For those parents that wish to stay in the same room with their kids but still need their own space, this large corner suite is perfect and comes complete with two queen beds. Kids have their own check-in at Hotel Union Square, and receive a mini cable car tin filled with chocolates; a list of kid-friendly San Francisco attractions handpicked by the hotel owner's children and cable car passes (limit two per family). The "Ring in the Kids Suite" sleeps up to four adults and two children. Rates start at $189, excluding tax and subject to availability. "Urban Explorers Suite" at Hotel Metropolis: Besides bouncing on the beds, most children find hotel rooms boring. Nevertheless, the one-of-a-kind Urban Explorers Kids Suite at Hotel Metropolis, filled with pint-sized furniture, bunk beds, a computer, a chalkboard wall, toys and rubber ducky decor in the bathroom, is a huge hit with families. Upon their very own check-in, kids receive fortune cookies and a list of kid-friendly San Francisco attractions handpicked by the hotel owner's children. The three-room family suite sleeps up to six adults and three children, and consists of the kids' room, a connecting guestroom with two queen beds and custom furnishings for the adults, as well as a living room area with a refrigerator, wet bar and pull-out sofa. Rates start at $289 per night, excluding tax and subject to availability. Small Hotels. Big Personalities.
